Froggy threesome

After a winter of my garden pond looking very barren and empty - and for several days coated with ice and snow - suddenly the frogs are back! I can hear them plop into the water as soon as I come out the back door, but if you're patient they will eventually surface again. The other day I counted six of them! Where have they been? There is even already an early blob of spawn in amongst the reeds.

My froggies have given birth in the garden pond I built for them - more than a month earlier than they did last year!

All that work building a pond in my garden last year has paid off! The frogs are back and are currently mating... Last year I snapped them mating right at the end of March! Is this evidence of global warming? Hope the pond doesn't freeze over. Wonder how much frog spawn survived from last year?
