Music venue gulped cash: the Dome is in trouble again -- will this affect the Brighton Festival, I wonder?

It can be quite an expensive night out at the Dome. When I lived in Brighton, I preferred venues like the Lift, the Gardner Arts Centre and the original Concorde.

The forthcoming Dome gigs featuring the African Soul Rebels (Tinariwen were very impressive at last year's Womad & Glasto) and Elvis look like they could be good shows.

African Soul Rebels
Rachid Taha, Tinariwen and Daara J relish confrontation, but music is their only weapon and it's as raw, funky and fearsome as it gets. Differences of language and culture can't stop the message or the groove. This is rock, blues, hip hop...soul rebel music straight out of Africa...for globalistas everywhere.

An Evening with Crosby & Nash
An evening of fine songwriting, magical vocal harmony and dogged social commentary in the company of two bona-fide rock legends.

Scroll down to the bottom of the link below for a vintage Brighton Dome poster from 19th November (1970 or '71?) featuring a line-up of David Bowie, Edgar Broughton Band, Strawbs, Steamhammer(who?), Jeff Dexter and Fox.

Mmmmm, nice!
